David Elms Describes A Room
David Elms Describes A Room has previously enjoyed sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and Soho Theatre, and now comes to the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. Before the show, he will be running a weekend of improv workshops to explore the ideas and techniques behind his work.
At Glasgow International Comedy Festival
What if an entire comedy show could be built from nothing but imagination?
In David Elms Describes A Room, the audience and performer work together to imagine a room — adding details piece by piece until it becomes a fully realised space. Once it exists, David brings it to life.
There are no props, no set and no script. Just a shared act of imagination that becomes a completely unique show every night.
The result is a playful and surprising hour of improv where the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

Learn the Techniques in a Special Masterclass Weekend
Before the show, David will also be running a weekend of improv workshops exploring the ideas and techniques behind his work.
These sessions focus on presence, simplicity and building scenes through behaviour and imagination — the same principles that power Describes A Room. It’s an exciting chance to work directly with David and explore approaches to solo and ensemble improv in a relaxed, supportive environment.
The workshops are open to improvisers and performers who want to develop their craft, try new ideas and deepen their stage work.

March at Squeaky bum time
It All Begins Here
First off, a massive thank you for being part of the ever-growing Squeaky Bum Time community.
We genuinely want everyone to feel the joy of the SBT family — and if we’re being completely honest, good-sized audiences make improv shows better, and classes make improvisers better. So whether you’ve been with us from the start or just joined recently: we’re very glad you’re here.
If you love what we’re building, tell your pals to sign up and join the fun.
Here’s what’s happening this month…
The EIIF Extravaganza – Sunday, March 1st
We’re gearing up for the Edinburgh International Improv Festival — one of the absolute highlights of the improv calendar. Our very own Tom and some of SBT’s closest collaborators run this brilliant festival, and we couldn’t be prouder.
To celebrate, this Sunday’s show is an EIIF Extravaganza.
Please note: there will be no Jam this month. Instead, we’re bringing you a stacked “best of” lineup featuring Glasgow teams heading to the festival next week:
From The Glasgow Improv Theatre:
Tubducky
With Bits
Saved by the Beep
Smoking Cat
Plus — the first ever performance of Games Night. (Their promo video is, frankly, ridiculous.)
If you’re heading through to Edinburgh, don’t miss the main event. Grab tickets for the full festival — and for the Squeaky Bum Time & Branded Silk show — and make a proper weekend of it.
