What we do

We bring world-class longform improv comedy and high-level learning opportunities directly to Glasgow.

We want to get better at this thing and continue to develop new, exciting ways to elevate the local improv comedy community. By importing top-tier international training, we are building a platform to discover what makes you the best performer you can be.

How we do it

We make our classes and workshops accessible, inclusive and ultimately loads of fun for all kinds of learners. We do this through three key approaches:

  • World-Class Teachers: We bring the world's best improvisers to Scotland both in person and via hybrid on-line in person learning, having hosted comedy legends such as Suzi Barrett, Will Hines, Chris Mead, David Elms, and Shannon O’Neill. By importing this best in the biz talent, we remove the traditional barriers that usually keep local talent from accessing high-level coaching. No expensive flights required.

  • Learning resources:Don’t worry about trying to take notes while you're in a rehearsal space, we've got you covered. We send out comprehensive notes and time-limited session recordings after each class. This lets you stay completely present and focus on the fun, while helping anyone who processes information differently learn at their own pace.

  • High-Trust Space:Improv is a personal and financial investment, and we want to protect that. On a personal level we take community members' wellbeing seriously through our code of conduct and safeguarding policy as well as just creating a lovely environment. Our shared notes and video replays mean that if you miss any of the learning you never miss out. This creates a high-trust environment where you can safely take creative risks, test new ideas and be a little clunky as you learn.

Our Values

We are a values-driven organisation, our artistic approach aligns with how how we want to run the theater as an enterprise

Connection

connection is the foundation of good improv, with your scene partners and the audience. As a theatre it means transparency and collaborative decision-making to ensure everyone feels seen and heard.

Wholehearted

We believe that the key to getting good at this thing can be achieved by approaching the craft wholeheartedly. Discovering who we are as artists is at the core of our philosophy. As a theatre, we communicate openly ensuring everyone has a voice and can engage in honest, supportive dialogue.

Patience

Getting good at this takes time. When we rush both in our scenework and through our development as an artist it can make what should be fun, a drag. The same is true trying to build a sustainable theatre, believe us we’ve tried running before we could walk. Through prioritising patience, confidence in the knowledge that through our solid foundation in connection and wholeheartedness we will reach…

…Excellence

High quality is not a finish line, but the natural byproduct of our first three values. By sticking to these principles, we continually raise the artistic floor of the theatre and the wider Scottish improv scene.
