We are incredibly excited to host Will Hines for a high-level weekend at SBT. Will is a legendary UCB teacher, founder of World’s Greatest Improv School in LA, and author of How to be the Greatest Improviser on Earth.

Hear Me Out: Find the Fool A lot of comedy revolves around someone's 'foolish' behavior. Therefore, a very useful skill is knowing how to make YOURSELF the fool. We will practice becoming 'fools' by heightening our emotions, by having 'bad' ideas, by focusing on unexpected goals. We will also practice knowing the difference between a 'gift' and an 'unreasonable demand.' It all comes down to having an unusual thing in the scene. Lots of short two-person scenes, be ready to do a lot of reps.

Learn Live from LA! Will will be beaming in virtually to lead the sessions, while the class gathers together in person at ACS. This is a rare chance to work with one of the most respected coaches in the industry.

    Workshop 1 (Saturday, 3-6pm):

    Slow, Stupid & Obvious: How to be less quick, witty and inventive on stage
    Do you find yourself making gags, creating narratives, and winning intellectual debates on stage? Join improv veteran David Elms for an intimate workshop exploring the mindset and practical ideas you can use to just slow down, dumb down, and be actually present.

    Workshop 2 (Sunday, 12-3pm):

    Playing with yourself: how to feel more comfortable improvising alone
    Does the idea of improvising by yourself send you into a panic? Join improv veteran David Elms for an intimate workshop exploring the mindset and practical ideas you can use to fly solo in comfort

If you need to cancel your booking, the following terms apply:

  • 7+ days’ notice: Full refund to your original payment method.

  • Between 7 days and 24 hours’ notice: A full credit will be issued in the form of a voucher, valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice: No refund or credit can be provided.
